The Deceiver is Tricky

For the past few years God has had me to repeatedly warn of deception. Earlier in the spring of this year (‘24), I felt another strong warning from God concerning deception. But first, here are some of the warnings I have felt led to give.

On January 20, 2022 I wrote, “My oldest daughter just had a dream about spirits of deception and false prophets. She was shown and told (in the dream) that these evils have now been released upon the earth. Btw, this completely coincides with

1 John 4:1-6, and other places.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are from the world, therefore they speak asfrom the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. The one who knows God listens to us; the one who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

I believe the viral spread of misinformation is the realest, surest sign indicating we’re in the final hour. I write about the supernatural force of deception in my book.

We must take heed, and live with discernment, having our spiritual eyes open.

On January 23, 2021 I wrote, “Beware of the tricks of deception that attempt to lure with entertaining, suspicious, preposterous imaginations. Huge, bizarre stories will bait some folks in with this type of mind candy, this deception of the soul.

Meanwhile, Truth is simple. It isn’t convoluted. It often stands right in front of us. And it doesn’t require a YouTube or TikTok video to prove itself. “

On January 21, 2021 I wrote, “The Gospel gives quite a few warnings about false Christs, false teachers, false sheep, false apostles, and false prophets that would be part of the last days. Nonetheless, we are emphatically beckoned to not be deceived.

On April 17, 2023 I wrote, “There was a wave of deception that came into America especially in 2019-2020. Conspiracies were rampant like never before. The church was not immune and neither was the prophetic camp.“

On January 24, 2021 I wrote, “Demons are working nonstop, creating and expanding their deceptive conspiracies. This is an hour of great deception.”

Colossians 2:8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that comes from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.

On Feb 16, 2021 I wrote, “It is vitally important that Christians have discernment, especially during this hour of deception. We will need to rely on Holy Spirit to help us differentiate between right and wrong on a slew of various issues, happenings, and the many changes taking place around us. We will also need our spirit to remain pure and keen in its ability to dissect whether God is at work, or if it’s some other spirit.”

1 Cor 2:14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

On Jun 15, 2021 I wrote, “False narratives are escalating and accelerating as we race toward time’s finish line. Deception is mounting.“

On July 27, 2020 I wrote, “there’s currently a counterfeit spirit operating in the land. These are the last days, and these are days of deception.

Be alert, aware, and sober. Be strong in the Word, and pray in the Spirit often.”

Then on March 27 of this year (‘24), I wrote: “Friends. I feel impressed to give a warning about deception again. This snake hasn’t raised its head with such venomous purpose since 2019. Please beware of deception. Steer clear of conspiracies. The enemy is trying to hatch eggs in our suspicious minds. Stay in the Word. Keep your prayer life active. Test the spirits. Don’t believe every prophet or prophecy. Be suspicious of viral, oft shared posts, even if they’re supposedly prophetic. I feel the Spirit of God telling me to warn folks. Deception has been loosed by the enemy and the Bible warns us to take heed, and be sober minded. There’s another, new trick that the enemy has been crafting and this multi-layered attack of deception is going to take many more people off track. Stay humble. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Don’t fight off the skepticism you feel in your spirit towards upcoming big events or much ballyhooed prophecies. “Y2K” and “Trump will be re-elected in 2020” represent huge deceptions that gobbled up way too many of us.

We’ve had way too much goofiness and error in the prophetic camp in recent years and I can’t help but fear there will be more to come.

An interesting Scripture stood out to me while I was reading the Bible this past week.

Luke 17:20 Now He was questioned by the Pharisees as to when the kingdom of God was coming, and He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs that can be observed”

And my friend, Phelim McIntyre who is a prophetic voice in the UK, recently said: “The issue for me is that we are told to not engage with the “signs in heavens” like the pagans do. We are told that there will be multiple signs, wars and rumours of wars, signs in the earth, and everything else BUT we are told not to use them to try and predict the end of the age.” Sadly too much of the prophetic movement is akin to superstition and on the same level as the ‘mancies and fortune telling of the pagan nations.”

Then, when McIntyre was questioned about Genesis 1:14 “God said the ‘lights in the heaven would be’ for signs.” He replied, “if we look at the signs mentioned in Genesis 1:14 we see that they are to mark the physical seasons. The Jewish calendar is based on the new moon, but anything else is condemned in Scripture. Jesus actually warns against using “signs in the sky” to predict the end of the world.

Furthermore, McIntyre points out, “there is a view in the USA that they are God’s chosen nation and anything that happens [there] is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. This is the heresy of replacement theology. Jesus Christ will return to Jerusalem not Capitol Hill.

Dearest friends, keep your eyes on Jesus. Keep your prayer life engaged. Stay in the Word. Be humble. Pick up your cross. Ask God to help you not get tricked by the deceiver.
